WPO Region NTT-NTB Spearheads Innovative Agricultural Conservation and Tourism Development
INTERNATIONAL NEWS
Under the visionary leadership of HE. Ms. Mia Srikandi, WPO Region NTT-NTB is pioneering a groundbreaking initiative that encompasses agricultural conservation, livestock development, and tourism promotion. This ambitious program aims to revitalize idle lands, boost crop yields, empower local farmers, and showcase the rich cultural and natural heritage of Eastern Indonesia, thereby contributing to the nation's food security, sustainable development goals, and economic growth.
The comprehensive initiative encompasses not only agriculture but also livestock and fisheries, ensuring a holistic approach to rural development. Furthermore, HE. Ms. Mia Srikandi has established consumer cooperatives, aligning with the directives of Regional Director for West Java, HE. Deden Suganjar SE, to foster economic resilience among rural communities.
A key component of this initiative is the production of organic fertilizers, which serve as a nutrient-rich solution for crops, fish, and livestock. The WPO Region NTT-NTB team is currently focused on cultivating high-quality crops such as California papaya, shallots, corn, peanuts, and palm sugar, while also advancing livestock breeding programs.
In addition to agricultural development, WPO Region NTT-NTB is also committed to promoting tourism in Eastern Indonesia. Under the leadership of HE. Ms. Mia Srikandi, the organization offers a range of tourism services, including guided tours to popular attractions, transportation services, and accommodations of various classes to cater to different budgets and preferences. Whether it's for leisure, meetings, or scientific research, WPO Region NTT-NTB is dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for tourists.
Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo SH MH, President of WPO, has expressed strong support for this conservation and tourism effort, recognizing its potential to enhance community well-being, promote cultural exchange, and contribute to national development objectives.
Through this innovative program, WPO Region NTT-NTB is poised to make a significant impact on agricultural productivity, rural livelihoods, and tourism development, paving the way for a more sustainable and prosperous future for Eastern Indonesia.
