WPO Issues Statement on Ongoing Demonstrations in Indonesia

Jakarta, September 3, 2024 - The World Peace Organization (WPO) has issued an official statement regarding the ongoing demonstrations in Indonesia. The statement was released by Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo SH MH, President of the World Peace Organization

In the statement, WPO emphasizes the importance of maintaining safety, order, and peace during the demonstrations. "We urge all parties to ensure safety, order, and peace during these demonstrations," said Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo SH MH.

WPO also upholds the democratic right of citizens to peacefully express their views and aspirations. "We believe that constructive dialogue and peaceful resolution of issues can achieve common goals," added Dr. Bambang.Herry Purnomo SH MH.

Furthermore, WPO extends its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the demonstrations, both from the demonstrators and security personnel. "We convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved families," said Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo SH MH.

WPO also deeply regrets the incidents of looting and damage to public facilities and government offices that occurred during the demonstrations.
