World Peace Organization (WPO) Fully Supports Fulfillment of Education Rights for Children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Selangor, Malaysia

Jakarta, Indonesia – The World Peace Organization (WPO), in collaboration with Indonesia’s Ministry of Human Rights (KemenHAM) and the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur, welcomed a visit to Sanggar Bimbingan (SB) Banting, Selangor, Malaysia on Wednesday, 26 November 2025. This activity is part of KemenHAM’s ongoing efforts to ensure the education rights of children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who are undocumented.
The delegation was led by Special Staff to the Minister of Human Rights, Mr. Wempy Wale, together with:
Eva – Legal Attaché, KBRI Malaysia
Yunita Christine – Head, Administration Subdivision, Directorate of Human Rights Services
Marlan Parakas – Community Complaint Analyst, Directorate of Human Rights Services
Rendy – Secretariat, KBRI Malaysia

During the meeting, the WPO‑KemenHAM team discussed with Sanggar Bimbingan management and PMI parents to monitor education implementation and identify obstacles, especially regarding citizenship documentation. Legal Attaché Eva provided technical guidance on procedures for securing necessary documents so that PMI children can access education legally and safely.


Mr. Wempy Wale remarked:
"Ensuring the right to education for PMI children is a priority. We are here to guarantee every child, irrespective of their parents’ migration status, receives proper learning opportunities and full protection of their rights."
Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo, SH., MH, President of WPO, added:
"Through this initiative, WPO reaffirms its commitment to support the Indonesian government in achieving peace and justice for citizens abroad. Education is key to fostering a competitive, integrity‑driven next generation."
The visit also served as a constructive platform for dialogue among government, international bodies, and the PMI community to strengthen synergy and sustainable cooperation. WPO expressed readiness to provide further technical support and advocacy to ensure comprehensive protection of the rights of PMI and their children.
