Jakarta, 10 December 2025 – In commemoration of World Human Rights Day 2025, the Ministry of Human Rights (KEMENHAM) of the Republic of Indonesia launched the Kampung Redam program and a series of initiatives to address human rights violations across several regions, including incidents in Sukabumi and other areas.

Kampung Redam is a program initiated by KEMENHAM involving an NGO, The World Peace Organization (WPO), local governments, and civil society, aiming to create safe spaces, support victim recovery, mediate conflicts, and strengthen human rights awareness at the community level.

Whereas the global situation today, human rights are under severe strain: tens of millions remain trapped in poverty, hunger, and fragile health and education systems still recovering from COVID‑19, while conflicts intensify and international law is often disregarded, said Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo, SH, MH, the president of The World Peace Organization.

However, the spirit of Human Rights Day 2025 reminds us that all rights—economic, social, civil, cultural, and political—are indivisible.

According to the WPO Secretary‑General, Dr. Mari Paus, MM,

On this Human Rights Day, we confront a harsh reality: rights are being ignored, inequality is soaring, and international law is wilfully neglected. We must unite to protect the vulnerable and build bridges of understanding.”

Kosovo, from Europe, is highlighting the current human rights situation:

Peace and stability flourish only when every individual is free from fear and oppression. Kosovo, having walked a path of resilience, remains steadfast in promoting dialogue and reconciliation.

Similarly in Asia, Datuk Seri Paduka Ramli bin Maddaleh, Vice President for ASEAN Zone, emphasized:

In ASEAN, we are strengthening cross‑border cooperation to protect migrants and workers, ensuring justice for all, because human rights know no borders.

And, HE Yenny Agoestian, Deputy Secretary‑General for Education, Culture, and Human Resources, added:

Human Rights Day is not merely ceremonial. It is a moment for governments, international bodies, and civil society to unite against violence, injustice, discrimination, and to ensure economic, social, and cultural rights are fulfilled.

Program Focus:

  • Protection of children, students, workers, and refugees.

  • Legal strengthening and assistance for Indonesian migrants in Malaysia.

  • Conflict reconciliation and mediation in Sukabumi and other high‑risk zones.

Next Steps:

  • Training for village officials and communities on human rights complaint mechanisms.

  • Awareness campaigns through digital media and school programs.

  • Establishment of Complaint Posts in five priority provinces (West Java/Sukabumi, North Sumatra, East Kalimantan, etc.)

Quote from the Minister of Human Rights, Republic of Indonesia:

World Human Rights Day is not just a ceremony; it is a call for all—government, international organizations, and society—to unite against violence, injustice, and discrimination.

Quote from the President of The World Peace Organization (WPO):

Kampung Redam is a concrete manifestation of our support for KEMENHAM in delivering justice at the grassroots.
