Jakarta – In commemoration of International Labour Day on May 1, 2026, the World Peace Organization (WPO) calls for global solidarity to create a peaceful, fair, and dignified working environment for all workers around the world.

WPO President Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo, SH. MH, stated that workers are the main pillar of national productivity and guardians of social peace.

“True peace cannot be achieved without justice in the workplace. Fair wages, safety guarantees, and respect for workers’ rights are the foundation of Peace is Action, Peace Is A Must,” Dr. Bambang Herry emphasized in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday (1/5/2026).

WPO’s Three Calls on May Day 2026:

  1. Peace at Work – End all forms of violence, discrimination, and exploitation in the workplace. Dialogue and mediation must become a culture.

  2. Dignity for All – Every worker, from teachers to farmers, from healthcare workers to factory laborers, deserves equal dignity and protection.

  3. Fair Work, Sustainable Future – WPO urges governments and global corporations to ensure decent work as the key to sustainable development.

WPO also expresses its appreciation to the millions of Indonesian workers who continue to contribute to the national economy amid global challenges. “You are unsung heroes. Your dedication keeps the wheels of the nation turning,” added Dr. Bambang Herry.

On this May Day 2026 momentum, WPO invites all elements of the nation: government, employers, trade unions, and civil society to come together to build Industrial Peace. Because only with peaceful work will a nation progress.

Peace is Action, Peace is A Must.

Happy International Labour Day 2026.
