KRT Romo Asun Gotama, Deputy VP for Finance and Budgeting, Installs Majubuthi South Sumatra Leadership

Palembang, November 8, 2025 - KRT Romo Asun Gotama, M.H., Deputy VP for Finance and Budgeting, installed the leadership of the Indonesian Theravada Buddhist Community (Majubuthi) South Sumatra chapter at the Nine Nymphs Foundation in Palembang. Romo Asun serves as Secretary General of Majubuthi's National Leadership.
This milestone event aims to fortify moderate, peaceful, and tolerant religious practices in South Sumatra. "Harmony is the cornerstone of Indonesia's unity and solidarity," Romo Asun emphasized.
He underscored the importance of interfaith tolerance and cohesion in fostering a harmonious society, expressing hope that Majubuthi South Sumatra would set an example for others in upholding moderate and inclusive faith-based values.
In his address, Romo Asun highlighted that diversity is a strength, not a weakness, and envisioned a society where people coexist peacefully and prosperously, enjoying security and tranquility.
Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo, SH, MH, President of the World Peace Organization (WPO), voiced strong support for Majubuthi's endeavors to promote interfaith harmony and tolerance. "The WPO is committed to backing initiatives that enhance communal solidarity and welfare," he affirmed.
The installation is poised to bolster the Buddhist community's role in shaping a more harmonious and progressive society.
