Floods Devastate Four Nations – WPO Voices Deep Condolences and Global Solidarity

Jakarta / Colombo / Bangkok / Kuala Lumpur — 6 December 2025 — Catastrophic floods sweeping Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Malaysia over recent weeks have left thousands dead, countless missing, and millions displaced. Extreme monsoon rains coupled with landslides have inflicted massive devastation across the region.

Dr. Bambang Herry Purnomo, SH., MH., President of the World Peace Organization (WPO), expressed profound sorrow. Through his spokesperson, he declared:

“The President is deeply saddened by the loss of life from the severe floods and landslides in Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. Thousands have perished, many remain missing, and millions are affected. We extend heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and stand beside all who suffer. WPO is ready to support rescue operations, provide emergency shelters, clean water, medical supplies, and conduct damage assessments.”

In tandem, WPO Secretary‑General Dr. Mari Paus MM added:

“With deep grief, I convey my sincere condolences to our brothers and sisters in these four nations. This disaster has claimed lives, destroyed property, and shattered the hopes of millions. WPO stands in solidarity with victims, volunteers, and governments, offering prayers, support, and solidarity. Let us together ease suffering, hasten recovery, and rebuild hope.”

From Kosovo, Vice President for Europe Zone Dr. Rabit Sadiku voiced sympathy:

“Kosovo extends its deepest condolences to Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. We are moved by the resilience of the victims and the relentless efforts of rescue teams. Having endured our own hardships, Kosovo stands with you, offering solidarity, prayers, and hope. May aid arrive swiftly and global brotherhood strengthen.”

Yenny Agoestian, Deputy Secretary‑General for Education, Culture, and Human Resources, highlighted humanitarian and educational priorities:

“Every disaster brings loss of life and damage. Our priority is saving lives, locating missing persons, and delivering urgent relief. Restoring children’s education is vital—trauma must be healed with hope. Let volunteers bring joyful, calming learning, fostering resilience. Together we rebuild, together we heal.”

WPO is coordinating with authorities in all four nations, deploying regional and global teams for emergency aid—shelters, clean water, medical supplies, and damage assessments. It also urges the international community to amplify humanitarian assistance, mobilize resources for long‑term recovery, and reinforce disaster‑risk mitigation.
